Muaaahhhh !!

Hi guys. What's up??  This week's blog is about the days that we have all gone through and I hope you are able to connect with this.

This is about my school farewell a few years back! I keep reminiscing about those glory days often. Days of fun, days of chai paranthe at 3am, days of kicking the birthday boy, days of thunder haha. I am sure most of you reading this by now must have started thinking about your school days and the amazing memories attached to them.
Usually the most memorable days in school are the ones when your crush gives you a tiny hint which is enough to keep you happy for the rest of your lives and mine is no different. I had a huge crush on a girl since the day I saw her, super confident as I was, I went to her and started talking and she was mesmerizing! We soon became really good friends but there were somethings I could just not say to her, no matter how much I wanted to shout out seeing her, everything used to go in a box of trash as soon as I used to see her walking towards me! We were super fond of each other and I thought telling her wasn't really necessary now. We used to hang out all the time, used to study together, have meals together! School staff, as weird as they are thought it's time to poke their big bloody noses called us in the head office one day. My heart was racing! I thought this will be the end! How much I wanted to tell her what I felt all along. We stood in front of our principal, honestly I don't remember shit about that lecture. There were voices in my head saying that this is gone now when suddenly, I looked towards her, my principal had turned around for something! she looked at me and winked! ;) oh I realized this was so on :D
Soon after that, all the hiding started , meeting like we don't know each other walking behind walls, writing behind books (yes we were in school years ago , had no cell phones, life wasn't easy :p )
But I still couldn't gather myself up to tell her how much she meant to me! Prep leaves started so we couldn't see each other everyday and it all became very grey! Farewell was coming, I was excited  I would meet her soon after a while and I thought I'll tell her. I saw her that night wearing a sari and I swear there has never been anyone or anything that beautiful! AND To my surprise she came, straight towards me, I was in my classroom alone waiting for her, and she kissed me!! And I really don't have to say who and what made this day so memorable !
This might seem a bit unrealistic but believe me it is very true.
If you too are scared out of your guts to express your feelings just like me, gibe it your best shot and who knows when you might get lucky.  The most memorable day of your life might be around the corner.

Cheers !!

The day I started saying NO !!

Hey guys. Hope you all are doing well. Today I’m going to share a simple step that has turned my life around. I could have never imagined how a simple word can change your life to such a great extent.

The power of NO. The power to say NO. The power to live with your decisions and doing what you love. The power of living it your own way.

If you met me few months ago, you would’ve said that I was a big kissass. I myself would have dejected me if I met myself a few months ago. I was living my life for others. All I did was to please others. I kept my self on the backseat and gave everyone else the steering wheel of my life.

It all started with a spectacular step that brought around this catastrophic change in my life. I had this epiphany about life and what I was doing and what I wasn’t. It was soon that I realized that there was nothing that I was doing for myself. All that I did was either for someone or because of someone.
Others had taken a toll on my life. It wasn’t a life worth living. Believe me. All my plans, all my dreams, all my wishes burned down to ashes.

Then came the day I decided to start saying NO to things I didn’t want to do. NO to things I didn’t even enjoy doing. That was the day I was reborn. I had finally started living life. I had finally started enjoying life. I was the one in control.

I did not have to go out with friends when I wanted to sleep, I did not have to do stuff when I was reading, I no longer had to put up with other people’s crap when all I wanted to do was get the hell out of there.

I became a free bird. I am a free bird now. And you have to take my word on this, this is the best feeling ever.
The message through this blogpost would be to start doing what you like and see the changes in your life. If you too have been living for someone else, for once try this out and see the results for yourselves.

There is never a better time to start living for yourself, then now. I have been in both the situations and I would never recommend any of you to be that guy who doesn’t live for himself.
There is a huge difference in being selfless and living for others. A selfless person does not sacrifice his will for making others happy. He just does not care about his happiness and keeps other above him.

So the plan is to say NO to stuff that you don’t feel like doing. There are no repercussions to this, only advantages. Stop thinking what others think about you. And start believing in yourself.

We found love in a hopeless place !!

The title of the post is a song by Rihanna, but it has been the most apt title I could have given to this post.

Sometimes in life you get what you expect the least and the other times life surprises you with tremendous amounts of hop, love and peace.

This recently happened to me when I had gone for this 15 days communication and general management programme in Ahmedabad.  I have lived in Jaipur for most of my life and needed a change of scenery so I decided to go through this mandatory training in Ahmedabad where some of my cousins lived.  The thought behind doing so was, since the training was compulsory I had to attend it and with cousins it would be a lot of fun.  I could explore the city, have some fun times and enjoy 15 days of my life.

The thing is I wasn't expecting a lot out this training plus the gujju fraternity has never excited me.  So the purpose was to complete the training anyhow, have some fun times with cousins and be on my way.

Befikar Bucket List :D

Hi Guys

Imagine a lifestyle where you do not have to worry about petty things like money and you have this choice to explore everything and anything you want.

How amazing the world and this life would have been had there been no worries, no limitations, no constraints?

The central idea to write about a bucket list without any limitations came from this advert from IDBI Federal Life Insurance.
I saw this advertisement a few days back and the idea was at the back of my head to write something of a bucket list without any limitations.

I have named the post "Befikar Bucket List" because that's what you get with "Federal Life Insurance Whole Life". Now there is a way to achieve that unfathomable bucket list of yours. Check out this link for more information on different policies and schemes.

So the five activities/things mentioned below are what my bucket list would involve if there was no holding back of resources.

1. Meeting AR Rahman

The maestro has been the biggest inspiration in my life. The Mozart of Madras as we call him, has risen up against all odds and has made his mark on the global music industry. With two academy awards, few grammys and so many other prestigious awards in his lap, he has been the most humble and down to earth person I have noticed with such credentials.

2. Travel round the world on a bicycle

Travelling has always been a passion. Exploring new places has always given me an adrenaline rush. And cycling is a hobby that always takes me to that serene place when everything else is not working out. So going around the world on a vehicle that brings me closer to myself as well as to nature has to be stupendous to say at least.

3. Invent something to help mankind

Not to brag or anything but helping others gives me a different kind of high and obviously there is a feel good factor attached to giving. Maybe its these traits that have forced me to give more and more or maybe its something else. What I would want to do is invent something (I don't know what yet) that would help the whole mankind in some or the other form.

4. Form a band, spread the love

To be in a band is every guy's dream and so is mine. To be in a band and to spread the message of peace and love is what I want to do. Being in a band, be it vocals, guitar or the drums, just being a part of it and having those amazing jamming sessions, band meetings and unprecedented performances.

5. Dinner date with Richard Branson

To meet the man who has built more than 300 companies and discuss with him some of his life experiences one to one is the ultimate dream. The business tycoon is the most commendable person on the face of earth. In my opinion Virgin group has touched heights that no other company can or ever will and I give the full credit to its founder - Richard Branson.

So these are the dreams, the wishes and the "to be achieved". Plan your future like you will live forever and insure your dreams insightfully.

Hope you liked the blog. Dream on !!

Until next time. Ciao !!

The fine line between a chat and a phone call

Hi there !!

I recently came across a situation that made me think about the pros and cons of a phone call over a simple text chat.

Though not a very big issue but many of us are inclined towards talking on the phone rather than chatting or texting coz it feels a bit more personal. But what about when you do not want to talk to your caller, wouldn't a simple text message or chat be better than calling.

My personal preference is chatting rather than talking on the phone. In this post I am going to give you 3 reasons why the former is better than the latter. Not to change any personal perceptions but if you could make good out of any advice, use it. If not, consider this as a fun read and move on :)

Recently I wrote a post about how http://www.quikr.com/ helped me move to Bangalore and made the transition really very smooth. Today I'm gonna discuss a bit more about the website and its new feature Quikr NXT.

Quikr NXT is this amazing addition to an already superb app through which you can chat with the prospective buyer or seller inside the app without having to call him.

According to me this is a very useful feature and would definitely help the app get more traffic and more users because earlier some people did not post on the website/app just because they didn't want those calls every 5-10 minutes asking about the product. So the reason number 1 is very clear and I am sure whoever has ever sold or bought a product on Quikr is aware of the huge number of calls that one would get shortly after posting the ad. The Quikr NXT solves this problem from head to toe. Now you do not have to give your phone number on the ad. Just select the option of Quikr NXT and you wouldn't get those annoying calls for negotiating the price. You just have to open the app when you need to check up on updates about your product and voila !! You can contact whoever you want and diss whom you don't.

The second reason in favour of chatting over calling would be better explained with this example. Imagine you are in a super important meeting and a prospective buyer calls you up and asks for the price of that 60 year old transistor that you posted on Quikr :P
Wouldn't that be a bit irritating? I think it would be.  So this is where Quikr NXT comes to the rescue again. Just drop in a message to the seller and he would contact you once he is in a position to talk things through.

The third reason why I think a chat would be more helpful than calling up a prospective buyer or seller is because you can express yourself better over text and help the other person about your requirement clearly. It happens to me quite often that the caller on the other side is from some other descent and it makes it really difficult to understand him/her over the phone call. Quikr NXT would really come in handy at these times.

Hope you liked the post. See you soon :)

A bolder proposal :)

Soon it will be that time of the year again. Those seven days of pure love. Those seven days of thinking things over and choosing the best surprises for the love of your life. The Valentine's week.

Challenging your mind to get something creative that would make her go "aww". Selecting her favorite flowers, selecting the best gifts, the over rated and over budget imported chocolates.

Truth be told, I've never done any of these things EVER !!. Rather I've always thought these to be too cheesy and gimmicky. But then again I have never felt the way for anyone that I feel for her now. Lets not give her a name and mention 'her' as 'her' ;)

So today when I was browsing the World Wide Web I came across this super fun website from the Close up http://cupidgames.closeup.in/. What they have planned for this Valentine's is a bold way to propose your crush. You spin the close up tube and whatever the dare comes you have to do that in order to win some amazing prizes and of course win the love of your crush.

Inspired by the idea I tried my luck and got a amazing dare to put up a special message in glow in the dark paint.

So to plan things further I am thinking of taking help of a few of my friends, her mom (who by the way is a sweetheart) and planning to propose her on the Valentine's day, as cheesy as it may sound ;)

What I am planning is to paint her room in a pink glow in the dark color (Pink being the favorite color of her and every other girl on the planet ) with my proposal to her.  Going into the details, I plan on wooing her everyday of the Valentine's week just like every other guy would do and then with the final proposal that would probably sweep her off her feet.
Or on the contrary I could act normal the whole week and let this amazing gesture be a surprise for her. Do tell which one sounds better to you ?

Knowing her a bit makes me think that this would definitely be a relationship starter for us as she loves surprises and doing such a romantic act for her would definitely give me some brownie points on the romantic front.
To end up the proposal I would get down on one knee and do the routine ;) I know this sounds a bit monotonous and common but this would be a first time for me. Also I think she would appreciate all the gestures knowing how much I hate these kind of things :)

I hope all goes well and this does not blow up in my face, coz she might get a bit angry when she sees her room has been spoilt with all that glow in the dark paint. And given my handwriting I am definitely looking for a calligrapher to do all the writing part ;)

Cheers !! Hope you too have an amazing and eventful Valentine's day.
