Ignorance not so BLISS eh!!

*This is a fictional blog.  Earth moved under Rohan's feet when the words were out of doctor's mouth and open in the air. "You are infected with human papillomavirus (HPV). You have been diagnosed with Stage 2 cancer."  Everything went black for 10 seconds and then began the flashback, the one he had only seen before in movies was happening to him now. He could see all the instances his friends, his mother, his father, his sister explaining him, scolding him, screaming at him not to use Pan masala & to curb on his drinking. It was dreadful, he could not control himself and as expected he began puling all over the doctor's cabin. Doctor who was a good family friend knew that this type of cancer could be treated in Stage 2 but there were some lessons Rohan needed to learn. He kept quiet and passed him the tissue box instead.  It was next to impossible for Rohan to believe that he had cancer and as the reality started hitting him he slowly came to realize the  things that were happening to him in the past few weeks and what he had been ignoring thinking that shit happens and carrying on with the life without giving his body the attention it needed.

It started 3 weeks ago, it was a Sunday morning and he woke up with a sore throat. The first thing that came to his mind was the party last night that he attended. He did not remember what happened after he drank 3 large bottles of strong ale. The thought that he had drank so much covered for the sore throat to him.

The sore throat didn't cure itself and even got worse after 2 days. Then started the painful coughs. Rohan blamed it all to the winters and faulty heater. His family was helpless infront of him and believed that only time  will teach him some maturity.

The sore throat and coughs were followed by a lump and a blood tinged sputum. This went on for about a week and half until the pain became unbearable and his father had to drag him to the hospital. They gave him some initial medicine and ordered some tests. But nothing changed, he was back to drinking and tobacco once the medicines did their job and numbed the pain.

Few days later the reports came and you know the rest.

SO THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS "IGNORANCE ISN'T A BLISS IF BODY SUFFERS"
