Okay so here I am posting the recipe of my favorite vegetable which has been a savior since my childhood. Easy to make, Mum used to make it whenever everything else was going against my taste buds.
~ INGREDIENTS ~
- 100 grams sev
- 3 tomatoes (medium size - chopped)
- 3/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dhana-jeera powder
- pinch of turmeric powder
- pinch of asafoetida
- 3 pieces of kokum (washed and soaked)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin or mustard seeds
- 1 cup water
- 3 teaspoons oil
- salt to taste
- On a low flame, heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds. As they crackle, add asafoetida and tomatoes. Stir.
- Add dry spices, water, sugar, kokum and salt. Stir well. Cook till the tomatoes are tender. Simmer for a few minutes. Switch off the gas.
- Add sev. Cover the pan for 2-3 minutes. Serve hot.
