Dar ke aage Jeet hai !!

I woke up in middle of December when the temperature is generally below 10 degrees, with sweat on my head and a fear in my mind. What I had just experienced was a dream,  but in reality it was a nightmare that had been haunting me since my childhood.

The dream was utterly realistic and left me shattered and fear stricken even after I woke up. It was equivalent to my worst fears coming alive.

It took me while to get back from my stirred senses. I couldn't talk to anyone about the dream as I live in a hostel and it would seem too lame to talk to my friends about how a dream had such a shivering effect on me.

What I dreamt about was, I stood on a mountain more or less like a canyon. On one side were lush green steep forests and on the other side was a river flowing by. It seemed like a scene from some movie shot in Himalayas. Except in place of the actor I was the one on top of the mountain and suddenly my foot slipped and I was on my way down on to the river. I knew I wouldn't survive the fall and as soon as I hit the rocks, my eyes opened.

This has been a problem since my childhood. I have a fear of heights among many other fears. This has made me suffer in more ways one can imagine. I have been curbing the amount of fun I could've had with my friends when they climb up a steep hill and are enjoying and I have to watch them from bottom wishing I too could do that, and there are so many more instances like this but I wouldn't get into details of my unconquered fears.

So I decided to take up on this and get rid of this once and for all. This is when I visited Bir Billing, India's foremost paragliding site. To take up on a fear is much more a tedious task than you would imagine. I had to practice a lot for paragliding along with the instructors and after 7 days of nerve wrecking practice I had my first flight at 6 in the morning.

The sun was just appearing from behind the hills, I had the whole village of Bir to cover while paragliding. I got my gear on and was getting ready for my first flight very nervously. Seeing this my instructor came to me and pepped me up a little and reminded me of my objective of getting over my fear and handed me a Mountian Dew cheering me up with "Dar ke aage Jeet hai". And then there I was on the edge of the mountain when this amazing chill went through my whole body and I knew that I was no longer afraid of heights and then I looked down to mesmerize the breathtaking view I had below me.

It was the most amazing moment of my life. Getting over fear is not an easy task but when you do that there is no greater joy.

For me that was the day I got rid of my phobia. See another such example of amazing courage from Superstar Arya in the new Mountain Dew commercial below.

Hope you enjoyed the post. See ya. And remember Dar ke aage Jeet hai. Cheers !!

Raise your voice for a cleaner India

Hi There.
How many times have you faced a situation when you have to raise your voice until some takes you seriously ?
I have had to do this like a million times because people tend to ignore you until you give them a meaningful reason and stick it to them until they realise that you are right and they have been wrong all along.

The same was the case with Montu, no one took him seriously and as a result his life was pretty miserable to say at least.
All said and done, strepsils helped him gain his voice and made him speak up about what was right. Watch his story at http://www.abmontubolega.com/ and get inspired. You can also follow him on Facebook & Twitter :)

Strepsils has launched this amazing campaign where you make your voice your power and help people understand their mistakes and make a difference.
The campaign is known as "The Power of Voice to Clean India".

What is most true is how the general state has been depicted by the campaign -

"There are places that need cleaning, people who deserve your attention & authorities who need to hear your opinions! Don't be a silent spectator. Raise your voice and make a difference.
We know that raising our voices against all that is dirty in our country is a power that we all have. Let’s exercise the power of our voice & work towards a Swach Bharat.
Kyuki Bin Bole Ab Nahi Chalega #AbMontuBolega.  "

Montu is just a guy like us and the campaign has used him to create such a great message of "Clean India". In a country like India if you never speak up you can never be taken seriously. You have to literally grab other person's throat in order to make him listen to you. Even if you manage to pinpoint someone's wrong doings, you have to make sure that he is taught to never repeat the same mistake again.

We all see our friends, colleagues, classmates, relatives littering away as they wish and as they feel. What could you do you ask ? You could use your "Power of Voice" and help them understand what they did wrong. We all have to work collectively on this single motive to have a dream come true, which is a Cleaner India.
You will have to speak up even if it is your superior and you find him throwing away a wrapper of chips on the roadside. Forget all about the command chain because country is our number one priority and everyone is equal when it comes to that.
Raising voice does not mean you have to use a high pitched voice for every small thing, it basically means using your reason and intellect to make the other person realise what he did was wrong and he shouldn't repeat the same mistake in future.

I am sure no one would mind a good lecture which helps them improve. As our PM Modi stresses, that Swach Bharat is a goal that can't be attained alone, you have to take everyone towards it and help them realise how good it would be to live in a cleaner India.

So lets pledge to raise our voice against anything that results in Nation's harm, whether it is your boss or your Dad, no one's allowed to litter India.

I take the pledge. Do you ?

The app has some other games also which will be launched soon. Some of it are quiz based in which you just answer a question and wait for your luck to kick in.

This may be the easiest money you would have ever earned. I really found this super cool.
The developers are crowdfunding this app which is a great way to source in finances. They have a very unique concept, which will surely help them get to their goals and soon the app will be flourishing in my opinion.

Revive the touch

Relationships are complicated. We all know that. The phases in a relationship come and pass, all they tend to leave us with, are memories. The sparks dull after a time. Finding someone special to spend the rest of your life with is much more complicated than it seems in the movies.

But if you have got someone special in your life, you tend to work on that relationship and stop taking it for granted. It happens to all of us, after a while, our priorities change. We let life take over us and become a product of the system, giving the only original thing we had, LOVE !!

This is a story of two of my friends. It was past summer, when Rohan & Anaida were going through  a tough time. Rohan had just migrated his job and Anaida was still a budding artist. Money wasn't an issue since Rohan had much saved up from his previous job, but because of the stress of this new job he had to give in way more hours than the previous one. Anaida worked for 6-7 hours on her gallery working on her art pieces but after that she was all alone at home. Rohan came from work very late and it was about the time they had to get some sleep. They couldn't talk to one another much except discussing how the day was.
Anaida getting pissed at the situation that had taken over her life tried to change it and take control of it by planning on ways to overcome the awkwardness that had developed between her and Rohan.

She came around this video campaign by http://www.pblskin.com/ called #BringBackTheTouch.

This one video helped her understand just what she needed :

Give the video a look to get in on the real situation of Anaida,
The next day when Rohan came home late from work, he was too tired to talk and after having dinner went straight to bed. Anaida having in mind what she needed to do, slipped next to him and hugged him gently, wrapping around her hands over him and holding him tight so that he could feel her warmth.

Rest is history and they have lived happily ever since :)

Porcelanosa you beauty :)

If you have never ever fell in love then I am going to give you the chance to do that. Even more, this is going to be love at first sight, I assure that. Therefore if you click the link below it is at your own risk and please do not blame me when you cannot unlove what you see.

There you go - http://www.24kliving.com/.

So to make the house even more beautiful I am going to choose some of my favorite products from Porcelanosa, you can too according to you own choices and taste. Just hop on to http://www.porcelanosa.com/  and let the magic begin.

For floor tiles - I choose Slate stone tiles.

These natural stone - Slate tiles would go perfectly with any ambience and I can picture the every room lightning up with use of these. These can be used for indoors, outdoors and probably everywhere. The classic and the supreme look they emit  is way above every normal tile you will come across.

For wall tiles I would choose stonker .

These are amazingly unique and would definitely go along with the floor tiles, because you dont want floor tiles and wall  tiles mismatching. STON-KER® is a remarkably resistant material with a surface that is unaffected by even the most extreme conditions. Therefore can be used for outside as well as inside.

The collection at Porcelanosa blows your mind away. With so much simplicity you can make your home look so beautiful I had never expected that. It is amazing how combinations are chosen and the set up is created to make maximum utilization of space and give an overall effect of extra space.

Also there is an amazing collection for kitchens and bathrooms. You literally have to soak in the awe-inspiring atmosphere created by the industry leader Porcelanosa.
I wonder how amazing the project would be when two of the biggies join hands. Porcelanosa joining hands with Kolte-Patil Developers Ltd. for their luxury brand #24KLiving would be the eighth wonder that the world will notice.

With both of their expertise, the final product would be nothing less of perfection and a dream come true. The immense beauty this project will create will be a treat for our eyes.

They have all kinds of Kitchen accessories from furniture to tops to kitchen taps. It is hard to pinpoint one amongst so many marvellous products. But my favorite would be this one :)

Again the design is impeccable and very simplistic. These guys are making me wonder how such a simple thing can be so beautiful.

Amongst all other features these amazing tops are made of Krion Solid surface, which is ideal for making kitchen worktops thanks to its superior chemical resistance. With a warm surface and pleasant feel, it is resistant to concentrated acids, stains of all kinds, and chemical products including solvents. Also, because it is totally non porous, it can also be used to manufacture sinks that are integrated into the worktop. Its heat resistance and fireproof properties allow it to withstand high temperatures. WOW !!

These are just a few qualities that I have mentioned.

Have a look at their combined venture at http://www.24kliving.com/ to know more and dream away to a magical land. :)

This is some serious SHIT !!

Hey there !! Okay now the title might seem a little out of the blue to you but it is "literally" what I am going to discuss in this blogpost of mine.

If you have travelled through India, and by India I mean through a train or a bus, you must have seen people defecating out in the open, by the sides of rail tracks or in some corner near an empty plot or maybe in a field. We as Indian do not take this seriously since we have grown up seeing a lot of this or maybe some of us men have peed out in the open in time of crisis.

But for once, think what an outsider/foreigner who is visiting India for the first time sees this, how weird they would feel by the gross unhygienic condition of our nation.  I mean even when we see these kind of things happening, we cannot see it through and just have to look somewhere else out of disgust.

Now think what it would feel like to defecate out in the open and not having the facility to a proper bathroom or not having any hygienic amenities to seek out to. This is the situation that 597 million of us Indians are facing right now that you read this blog. Yes you read it right 597 million. If you give it a serious thought can you imagine in a developing nation as India, how these people are barely surviving and to top that this unhygienic environment is making it worse for them.

Now I got this idea of writing about this serious issue from an amazing initiative by the guys at Domex. There is this amazing  "You Click Domex Contributes" initiative at http://www.domex.in/  by which you can contribute to making the situation better just by clicking on the link above.

You can bring about the change in the lives of millions of kids, thereby showing your support for the Domex Initiative. All you need to do is “click” on the “Contribute Tab” on www.domex.in and Domex will contribute Rs.5 on your behalf to eradicate open defecation, thereby helping kids like Babli live a dignified life.

The initiative has been given a name - "Toilet for Babli". This represents all the million of children just like Babli who are not in contact with hygienic amenities and are prone to many life threatening diseases. Since its not possible for each and everyone of us to get at the grass root level and help those ailing. So the least we can do is help in anyway we can and let the professionals at Domex do their jobs.

Also to let you guys know about the good work these guys at Domex are doing, there is this

Domex Toilet Academy.
"Domex, HUL’s flagship sanitation brand, currently runs the Domex Toilet Academy (DTA) programme. Domex Toilet Academy was launched on 19th November 2013. It aims to become a sustainable and long-term solution to provide sanitation that benefits the local community and helps stimulate the local economy. The Toilet Academy makes toilets accessible and affordable, while promoting the benefits of clean toilets & good hygiene. Our effort has resulted in bringing the change in the villages of Maharashtra and Orissa and we aim to build 24000 toilets by 2015 in rural areas faced with the problem of open defecation."

Once again, I am laying high hopes in everyone of you to go to www.domex.in and please contribute for a safer and healthier tomorrow.  Thanks :)

Hapiness is...

I remember my mom saying "Bachhe hi ghar ki ronak hote hai". To translate she means that children make the house, a home.

I have been meaning to thank Dabur Chyawanprash for a long time. This seems to be the best opportunity to do so. It has been more of a tradition at our home  to start our days with a glass of milk and a spoonful of Dabur Chyawanprash. This is actually more of a thing that runs in the family. Each and everyone from long distant relatives to closer ones have this habit of depending on Dabur Chyawanprash as their family doctor.

It is indeed a very well known fact that Dabur Chyawanprash increases your immunity by upto 3 times. With herbs like  Amla, one of the best antioxidants, Giloy (Guduchi), known to have immuno-modulatory properties, and other 40 more natural products that help you in a million ways it is your best chance for avoiding a doctor.

We all know that children are more prone to diseases than adults in some case, this can easily be prevented by a regular dosage of Dabur Chyawanprash which has no side effect and will help you in ways that you can't even imagine.

It is really important to build a strong immunity in our children, and I feel that Dabur Chyawanprash is the best chance we have got to do that.

Allopathic nutrition tablets, multi vitamin juices are a no competition to our own "Desi Nuskha" that Dabur Chyawanprash is.

Starting your day with a spoonful of Dabur Chyawanprash will not only make you much more healthier but you can notice the change in your daily schedule with more energy and  much more enthusiasm. It does help you with your daily nutrition needs and provide a good, nutritious supplement to your breakfast.

I personally vouch for this, since it has helped me in ways where modern medicine have failed. Don't want to jinx it or anything but I have been immune to many of the contagious common viruses and diseases which a normal human can easily fall prey of.

As we all know that children are what bring happiness to our dull sad homes, and if you don't already know that try living without them for 2 days. Lets pledge to start our and our children's day with a spoonful of Dabur Chyawanprash.

I bet that you will find that your children are much more happier and healthier once a daily dosage is set.

As mentioned on their website :
Dabur Chyawanprash has anti-oxidant properties and helps to strengthen your body's
internal defence mechanism - the immune system - thereby protecting you from day to day
infections such as cough, cold etc. I vouch for this.

I personally feel that this will bring out a good change in your life. And if you dont believe me
check out more of the scientifically proven facts about Dabur Chyawanprash.

Shubh Deepawali !!

Unlike other's I have been blessed with celebrating every single one of my Diwali with my family. I feel myself really lucky when I see my friends wanting to come to home for Diwali but aren't able to due to some really lame reason like no flight tickets or no leave from work. I pity them as the joy they forego is far greater than they realise. This is the post for them who are not celebrating the festival of lights the right way.

Got the idea of writing this post after watching this amazingly heart touching new Pepsi India campaign for #GharwaliDiwali. Do have a look at the video :

and the special website  https://www.gharwalidiwali.com/.

As righteously as it can be the description of video mentions -

"All the lights in the world can’t light up your heart
If you’re not home with the people you love, this Diwali…
There is no Diwali like #GharWaliDiwali. "

I feel how true the above lines are. What's the point of celebrating if you aren't with the right people.

I remember the times when I was a young free minded chap rather than this busy arrogant guy I am now. The festivities for Diwali began 10 days ahead of the festival when our school shut down for Diwali vacations. Every single one of our cousins would gather at one place and the humongous  family that we have, it was nearly impossible for the parents to find their respective children :P

Man those times were fun. Playing around all day, chittering chatting with everyone till the dusk, lighting those hundreds of diya's everyday and then decorating the home till every corner of it was lit.

And the food. Don't even get me started about the food. Diwali delicacies are THE BEST. They give your taste buds a real challenge with tens of dishes, varying in taste from really really sweet "halwa" to tangy and bitter "fried vegetables". Especially remember the "Daal ka Halwa" that my mom made every year. The overflowing Ghee, the exact amount of sweetness, as soft as cotton. That my dear was pure bliss. PURE BLISS.

I remember how good everyone would dress on the day and it was like a big fiesta all over. All the relatives would come and meet, celebrate and we had this gala time together.
Burning those cheerfully bright crackers, those 5000 shot garlands, those roof touching "anaars", trying to get my rocket above everyone else's.

The Deepawali those days were fantastic, nothing like present days Diwali. The excitement has been buried somewhere deep down. Really need to bring the whole family at one place and get the good ol' days  back.

How times have changed. Now the feel, the enthusiasm and the harmony has lessened. I guess everyone's much more busier. Everyone has some or other family stuff they've got to do or some work that needs to be finished on an "urgent"  basis.
I just wish there was some way to get everyone together every year for the celebration.
What is a Diwali if everyone's not together. The more the merrier.

What everyone of us should do is plan something that the whole family is together on this auspicious occasion. I think being together would actually change the purview of many things to come in the year. Being considered the Hindu New Year, getting all at one place and starting the year with all the loved ones has to be a great boost in positivity.

Let's get planning and make this big festival season even bigger by connecting souls and bringing everyone closer.

Let's pull a #GharWaliDiwali

& have a

HAPPIEST DIWALI.
